I don’t wear makeup often, but I’ve brought it out a number of days to see how Liquid Gold plays under makeup. I’m (gleefully) looking down the barrel at 15+ steps in my PM routine, so anywhere I don’t have to wait for dry time, I’m a happy camper. One of the things I love about this product is how quickly it dries down. However, my paleness makes Casper the ghost look like a tanning bed addict, so I imagine on most other skin tones it wouldn’t be visible at all. It’s BRIGHT yellow-orange from the sea buckthorn, but spreads pretty easily and only leaves the tiiiiniest yellow cast after I’ve spread it in. Its consistency is slightly thicker than a serum, but not as thick as a gel cream or oily despite the ingredients list (more on that in a moment). I’ve been going with option 1, twice a day every day, AM and PM. The second is a thicker layer as a deeper moisturizing sleeping pack of sorts. The first is a thin layer all over your face as the first occlusive step of…well, however many of those you have. How to use it: We’ve got two recommended options here. It accomplishes all this with the magic of CERAMIDES oooh ahhhh (For more info on what a moisture barrier is, see Skin & Tonics excellent moisture barrier post linked in the sources.) The formatting of these sections is shamelessly ripped from bloggers whose reviewing formats I admire: Fiddy Snails, Skin & Tonics, Fan-B, Snow, and of course, Her Majesty The Acid Queen Herself ) Alli, who runs the blog, is a seriously impressive DIY’er, which allowed me to get involved in her guinea pig pool for testing product formulations she was currently tinkering with. I’ve always been both a science nerd (currently working myself through a Masters program to be a physician assistant) and a product junkie, and those two things have gloriously collided over the last few months to the benefit of my skin! The AB side bar has an excellent list of blogs, one of which I fell way down deep into is The Acid Queen. Support an up-and-coming indie shop and repair your moisture barrier, all without breaking your wallet.īackground: I recently upped my skincare game considerably through the infinite wisdom and patience of r/SkincareAddiction and r/AsianBeauty. TL DR: If your moisture barrier is damaged, this stuff will seriously change your life.
